Poem – For You as You Die (By Valentina Cano)

May 17, 2025 Antarctica Journal

My fingertips thrummed with your heartbeat which lapped at me, a tongue in a bowl, a ticking turn signal. I watched your breath grow downy with fear and hoped you could walk out of the room on your own.   Bio: Valentina Cano is a student of classical singing who spends whatever free time she has either reading or […]

Poem – You/Me (By Valentina Cano)

April 29, 2025 Antarctica Journal

Ink dries on my skin the way breath does on yours. You have lost the way to this parched strip of land and I have refused the silence required to get to yours. We are stranded, mud stained and moist with moss-green regret, a galaxy of hesitations apart.   Bio: Valentina Cano is a student of classical singing who […]

Her works have appeared in numerous publications and […]

Poem – Missing You -for I (By Valentina Cano)

November 17, 2024 Antarctica Journal

From me.   Bio: Valentina Cano is a student of classical singing who spends whatever free time she […]

Chilling Details

A suicidal man who was threatening to jump off London Bridge helped save the life of a complete stranger drowning in the waters below. When emergency services arrived at London Bridge, they noticed the second man struggling to keep his head above the freezing waters of the Thames. Police talked the would-be jumper down while volunteers rescued the drowning man—who couldn’t remember how he ended up in the water. “If it hadn’t been for the original incident,” said an official, “he would never have been spotted and would have drowned.”
